Think you know your way around the Hinesburg Town Forest? How well do you remember the trails at Sleepy Hollow? Find out on the afternoon of October 12th at the Wheel of Fire - MTB Adventure Race presented by Fellowship of the Wheel and Green Mountain Adventure Racing Association.

This unique event has been designed to test riders' stamina and their ability to strategically navigate the Sleepy Hollow and Hinesburg Town Forest trails. Racers will have to pick their own route around the 35 miles of trails to reach as many Check Points as possible. The epic course will traverse both mighty trail systems on miles of fun singletrack built by FOTW. There will also be a shorter course that stays within the Sleepy Hollow trail network. You choose your challenge and the length of your ride!

Course maps will be distributed on October 12th at 12 pm for Advanced riders and 1 pm for Beginner and Intermediate riders. Racers will start (and finish) at Sleepy Hollow at timed intervals up to an hour after the map is distributed. The winner will reach the most Check Points (CPs) within the allotted time.

Advanced riders will start at Sleepy Hollow between 12 pm and 1 pm. They'll quickly make their way over to the HTF on trails and have 3 hours to reach as many CPs as possible, in any order, before crossing back to Sleepy Hollow. Upon their return, they'll have up to 5 hours total (from their start time) to reach additional CPs at Sleepy Hollow. Advanced riders will be allowed to ride with one other competitor. One aid station (with water, energy drinks, and food) will be provided at the crossing point between the two trail networks.

Beginner and Intermediate riders will start between 1 pm and 2 pm and have up to 3 hours to reach as many CPs as they can, in any order. Their course will stay on Sleepy Hollow property and offer a wide range of trail difficulty levels. There will be extra points and surprises to keep it fun for all ages. Beginner and Intermediate riders will be allowed to ride with up to three other competitors.

The race will be held in conjunction with a free dinner and party hosted by FOTW to thank our dedicated members for a great season. Please come out to race (or just ride) and enjoy a fine meal to celebrate the Fellowship's success this year. You've earned it!

All racers and members of either FOTW or GMARA are invited to share in the post-race dinner and party.
