Sunny Hollow

The Fellowship of the Wheel and the Town of Colchester are collaborating on trail improvements and a maintenance plan for Sunny Hollow Park. The 88 acre park is adjacent to the popular Camp Johnson trails and includes many of the most heavily used trails of this network. This is a great opportunity for the Fellowship show the benefit of our organization and advocate for continued access to other trails in the area.

The work will include some trail additions, route improvements, multiple new bridges, and some minor trail closures. Please respect all trail closures and re-routes. The final result of our efforts will be a fun, well marked, and sustainably built trail network designed to withstand bike traffic even when other trails are too wet to ride.

The Sunny Hollow trails have been adopted by Rik Dayvie. If you note problems, obstacles, or have suggestions, please write to bikesunnyhollow@gmail.com.

Directions to the Trail

The Sunny Hollow trailhead and parking for the trail work day is located at the big turn on Hercules Drive in Colchester. Turn onto Hercules Drive from Route 7, just north of I-89 exit 16 and park in the gravel lot at the first sharp corner.
