Trail clinics are meant for volunteers of all different experience levels. Informative and productive! Bring a bike, bring a tool or just come as you are and join the comradery.

Fellowship of the Wheel is hosting a Trail Clinic! If you have been to one of our trail days in the past, this will look and feel all the same, but is more than just a trail day. This series of Trail Clinics throughout the 2025 season will provide volunteers of all abilities with knowledge about trail construction, the tools for the job, along with the methods needed to safely execute trail work projects.

All trail clinics begin with a discussion about the tools we use, safe operation, and a summary of some trail projects where you can get your hands dirty. Then we’ll head out to the trails as we walk through the steps to install upgrades throughout the network. Expect to walk about 1-2 miles depending on the work site!

Where and When:

Hinesburg Town Forest Hayden Hill West Parking – Saturday August 16th – 9:00am

We will meet at the parking area located at the end of Hayden Hill WEST Rd. Please note, Hayden Hill WEST Rd does not connect to Hayden Hill East, you must use North Rd to access this parking area. Arrive by 9:00am with plans to hit the trail shortly after!

We will reroute a section of trail on Missing Link which was affected by 2024 flooding with a more resilient section of trail.

What to bring:

– Closed toe shoes
– Water and/or snacks
– Bug spray/bug nets

Additional Recommendations

– Pants
– Gloves
– Eye protection
– Tools will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring your own if you have any (depending on the project, the following can be useful: leaf rakes, shovels, picks, hoes, loppers, saws, stone working tools)

Fellowship of the Wheel is a non-profit that advocates for mountain biking and maintains 100+ miles of public multi-use trails in Chittenden County, Vermont. We work with private and municipal landowners to create responsibly-built, sustainable trails for the greater community to enjoy their surrounding environment through recreation.
